Tata Altroz Automatic to be launched soon

The Tata Altroz will soon be offered with an automatic transmission, despite joining the automatic hatchback party a little late, the Altroz is likely to pack a few tricks up its sleeve.

Tata Altroz made its debut back in 2019 and the hatchback stepped in the B+ segment. While the Altroz borrowed its drivetrain from the diesel Nexon and petrol model featured the powerplant found in the Tiago, however, the Altroz never had an option of an automatic, until now.

Tata Motors has teased the automatic variant of the Altroz on its social network handles which confirms that the launch of the new automatic variants is likely to happen soon.

Both the Altroz petrol as well as diesel iterations will feature automatic options. The automatic iteration is likely to feature an AMT which is also offered with the Nexon as well as the Tiago.

The Tata Altroz gets three engine options – 1.2-litre NA, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel. So far it is unclear if Tata will offer the AMT with all its engines or not, but mostly the 1.5-litre diesel and a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol are the two engines which are likely to feature the AMT.

The Tata Altroz is priced between Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). The addition of the AMT will mostly shoot up the price by Rs 50,000 for some of the variants.
