Hatchbacks are now more than just an affordable option in the automotive market. They have become more safety-focused, feature-rich, and performance-oriented to suit the different needs of buyers. The Tata Altroz Racer is the most recent vehicle to enter this market. It is one of the few hatchbacks in the class with a high-performance turbo-petrol engine. In its segment, the sportier hatch directly rivals the Hyundai i20 N Line. It also competes with the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, equipped with a turbo-petrol unit. While we've already compared the hatchback to the former, it's now time to see how it stacks up against the latter.

Tata Altroz Racer vs Maruti Suzuki Fronx Turbo: Design

The Racer edition has several sportier styling elements that differentiate it from the standard Altroz, such as a new grille, two white stripes that stretch from the bonnet to the rear roof, black alloy wheels, a dual-tip exhaust system, an i-Turbo+ logo, and a Racer badge. The hatch comes in three dual-tone colour options: Atomic Orange, Avenue White, and Pure Grey.

Coming to the Maruti Suzuki Fronx Turbo, the variant resembles its 1.2-litre petrol sibling. Its front is characterized by a big hexagonal grille separated by a chrome bar, slender LED headlights, and daytime running lights. Moreover, there are grey faux skid plates on the front bumper. The SUV has a modern and fresh look with its coupe-like roofline, muscular fenders, 16-inch precision-cut dual-tone alloy wheels, chiselled wheel arches, and side body cladding. It features LED block taillights, an LED strip covering the width, and a roof spoiler at the rear. The Fronx is available in seven monotones and three dual-tone colour options.
