Tata Nexon 2023: Powertrain Options

The facelifted model will have the same engine configurations as the previous iteration of the Nexon. Customers will have a choice between two engine options – a 1.5-litre diesel engine providing 113bhp and 260Nm of torque and a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine generating 118bhp and 170Nm of torque. Both engines come with manual and automated manual transmissions (AMT), while the turbo-petrol version now also offers a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission as a backup option. Additionally, the dual-clutch transmission will have paddle shifters for individuals with a penchant for engaging drive experience.

Let's take a quick look at all variant powertrain combinations. Only the base-spec Nexon Smart model is available with the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine and 5-speed manual transmission. The Pure trim can be had only with a 6-speed manual, along with either a turbo-petrol engine or a diesel unit. For both gasoline and diesel engines, the Creative trim is available in both manual and automatic versions. Lastly, the top-tier Fearless version does not offer a 6-speed AMT with the turbo-petrol unit.
