Tata Nexon i-CNG Concept to Debut at Bharat Mobility Show 2024, India Launch Soon

Tata Motors has confirmed its participation in the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, which will be held from February 1-3, 2024, at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The Tata Curvv, the Safari Dark, the Altroz Racer, and the Harrier.ev are some of the concepts that will be showcased at this upcoming mobility show in India. Among all of these cars, the Tata Nexon i-CNG concept will be the highlight of the homegrown automaker's booth at the expo. With this, the Nexon SUV will gain a new powertrain option—CNG—along with electric, diesel, and petrol. Although a formal announcement has not been made, the production model of the Nexon CNG concept will soon be available for purchase in the nation. In a recent development, the Tata Nexon achieved a noteworthy production milestone of 6 lakh units in India. The SUV went on sale in 2017 and experienced its first significant makeover in 2020. Furthermore, the facelifted models of both ICE and electrified Nexon arrived on the market in September last year.

Tata Nexon CNG: Mechanical and Other Key Details

The upcoming version's mechanical components will be a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine linked to a factory-installed twin-cylinder CNG kit. The predicted capacity of the CNG cylinders is 60 litres, with about 230 litres of available boot space. Expect a few mechanical and cosmetic modifications specific to the CNG, the upcoming Nexon model will be the same as its ICE counterpart. It will include a micro switch, a single advanced ECU, a modular fuel filter, leak detection failure, direct start in CNG mode, leakage-proof materials, thermal incident protection, an auto fuel switch, and more in its equipment list.
