Tata Punch Crosses 1.75 Lakh Unit Sales Milestone in India

The sales of the Tata Punch have crossed the 1.75 lakh unit mark in India. Tata Motors launched the Punch in 2021, and currently, it showcased the CNG version of the Punch at the Auto Expo 2023. Reportedly, the Punch CNG is scheduled to hit the market later this year. Coming to already on sale Tata Punch, it is positioned below the Nexon model in the company's Indian lineup. Price-wise, the Punch's cost begins at Rs. 6 lakh and goes to Rs. 8.87 lakh (ex-showroom). On the sales front, the car reportedly helped the firm in registering an increase in February 2023. For those unaware, Tata Motors announced overall sales of 79,705 units in February 2023, denoting an increase of 2.5%. In February 2022, the company sold 77,733 units only. Let's know more about the Punch, which recently clocked sales of more than 1.75 lakh units in India. 

Tata Punch: Engine, Colours & Variants

Talking about the engine, the Punch is powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, Revotron petrol unit that churns out a maximum power output of 84bhp and a peak torque of 113Nm. For transmission, it can be mated to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT.

The Tata Punch is available in seven dual-tone colours, such as Calypso Red with white roof, Orcus White with black roof, Atomic Orange with black roof, Tornado Blue with white roof, Tropical Mist with black roof, and Meteor Bronze with black roof and Daytona Grey with black roof. 

It is offered in four variants: Pure, Adventure, Accomplished, and Creative. Moreover, buyers can select from Rhythm, Dazzle, and iRA packs.

Tata Punch, Altroz CNG: India Launch Details 

As mentioned, Tata Motors showcased a glimpse of the Punch CNG at the Auto Expo 2023. The company will reportedly launch the CNG version of the Punch in India by June 2023. Industry reports revealed that another CNG model by the firm - the Altroz, will also be launched alongside the Punch CNG.

The automaker is presumably working to change the CNG kits available for Indian cars. The Altroz and Punch, two forthcoming CNG cars, will therefore be brought along with a split-cylinder-tank layout. The company claims that the split-tank design will give CNG owners a usable boot area. Tata hasn't revealed the precise amount of luggage space for the forthcoming CNG variants, though.

Mechanically speaking, the iCNG models will have a 1.2-litre petrol engine capable of generating 84bhp and and 113Nm. On the other hand, the motor's output in CNG mode will be 76bhp and 97Nm. Twin cylinders will be used to store CNG in both CNG models.
