Based on the new Gen 2 EV architecture, the Tata Punch.ev is offered in two variants: Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR), with up to 421km range.

Tata Motors has launched the Punch.ev in India, with prices ranging from Rs 10.99 lakh for the entry-level version to Rs 14.49 lakh for the top-spec version. All prices are ex-showroom. This is the company's fourth all-electric model, following the Nexon.ev, Tiago.ev, and Tigor.ev. Moreover, it also happens to be the automaker's first electric car based on the new Gen 2 EV architecture, touted as acti.ev (Advanced Connected Tech-Intelligent Electric Vehicle). Tata's new electric SUV is available in five broad variants – Smart, Smart +, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+, with each getting different colour options. The bookings for the Punch.ev are underway for a token amount of Rs 21,000. Prospective buyers can book the same either through an offline or an online medium – EV-only outlets/certain standard showrooms or the official website.

Tata's second electric SUV, the Punch.ev, borrows design cues from the company's bestseller Nexon.ev. Up front, the Punch.ev gets a closed-off grille, split LED headlamps, a full-width LED light bar, as well as an all-new lower bumper with vertical slats and a silver faux skid plate. There is also a charging flap located beneath the Tata emblem, making it the first Tata EV to do so.
On the sides, the car remains largely unchanged, save for new 16-inch alloy wheels with disc brakes on all four wheels. Meanwhile, at the back, the Punch.ev sports a dual-tone bumper, Y-shaped daytime running lights, and a roof-mounted spoiler.

On the inside, the Tata Punch.ev features dual 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment and instrumentation, a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, an electric sunroof (optional), a jewelled rotary drive selector (available only with LR variants), ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto-hold functionality, connected car tech, cruise control, a wireless charger, and an air purifier.
As far as safety goes, six airbags, ABS, and ESC are standard on all Punch EVs. Other bits are a blind spot monitor, ISOFIX mounts, and three-point seatbelts for all seats.
In terms of the powertrain, the new Punch.ev comes in two versions – Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR). The former gets a 25kWh battery pack with a range of up to 315km (MIDC), while the latter is equipped with a larger 35kWh battery with a range of 421km (MIDC) on a single charge.
The MR variants of the Tata Punch.ev can be charged using a 3.3kW AC charger, while the LR variants additionally come with a 7.2kW AC charger as well as a DC fast charger.
As for colour options, the electric SUV can be had in five dual-tone and four monotone exterior shades, including Seawood Green, Daytona Grey, Fearless Red, Pristine White, and Empowered Oxide.

Retailing between Rs 10.99 lakh and Rs 14.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the electrified Punch slots between the Tigor EV and the Nexon EV. In terms of market rivalry, it goes against the Citroen eC3.
