Tata Motors has teased the production-spec Sierra EV for the first time, and the electric version looks almost similar to its ICE counterpart, except for some subtle design tweaks, particularly around the front. The conventional Sierra ICE is scheduled to hit Indian showrooms on November 25, and though Tata hasn’t officially confirmed the EV’s launch date, it’s likely that the company could reveal the full production model around the same time. This first look not only builds excitement but also reveals key details about the electrified Sierra. It marks Tata’s continued expansion of its electric lineup with a familiar yet futuristic SUV. Here’s all you need to know.

The Sierra EV looks cleaner and more futuristic than its ICE counterpart. The front end is sealed, featuring a minimal bumper and a body-coloured Tata emblem. While it retains the full-width LED light bar, there are a few subtle differences. On the ICE Sierra, the headlamps sit within the grille, whereas on the EV, they’ve been moved into the bumper. That said, the car retains many features from its ICE sibling, including the alloy wheel design.
The interior of the SUV hasn’t been revealed in the latest teaser. However, industry reports suggest that the electric version will likely retain the overall cabin layout of its ICE counterpart. To differentiate it, Tata may introduce new upholstery colour options and subtle design tweaks. The EV could also gain several electric-specific features, such as vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities. Other possible features include a wireless phone charger, a three-screen setup, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a JBL sound system, and dual-zone climate control.

Safety-wise, the electric Sierra is likely to have a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), front and rear parking sensors, and Level-2 ADAS.
The Sierra EV is likely to come with more than one battery pack option and offer a range of over 500 kilometres on a single charge. It could also feature an all-wheel-drive configuration.
