Tata Tiago AMT launched for Rs 5.73 lakh

Tata Motors has launched the automatic version of the Tiago hatchback in India for a price of Rs. 5.73 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

Tata has decided to make the Tiago more attractive to customers in India by offering an automatic transmission variant with the hatchback.

The Tata Tiago now gets an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) gearbox mated to the 1.2-litre, three cylinder Revotron petrol engine. The transmission is the Magnetti Marelli system, lifted from the Zest sub-4 metre sedan and features four gear positions – Automatic, Neutral, Reverse and Manual. Just like the Zest, the Tiago AMT also gets two drive modes– Sports & City. The gearbox also gets a creeping function that allows the car to crawl forward as you release the brake pedal without having to use the accelerator pedal. This allows easy drivability in stop and go traffic and parking situations.

The Tiago automatic will be available in the XZA variant and is available across all Tata dealerships across the country as of today.
