Tata Tiago, Tigor iCNG with Automatic Transmission Launched in India, Prices Start at Rs 7.90 Lakh

The Tata Tigor and Tiago are equipped with a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, petrol engine that cranks out 85bhp and 113Nm of torque when using petrol. In CNG mode, the engine generates 72bhp and 95Nm of torque.

Tata Motors has revealed pricing for automatic variants of the CNG-powered Tigor sedan and Tiago hatchback. Offered in two variants, the Tigor iCNG automatic is available at a starting price of Rs 8.85 lakh for the entry-level XZA variant, while at the top of the heap is the XZA+ variant priced at Rs 9.55 lakh. As for the Tiago iCNG automatic, the hatchback retails between 7.90 lakh and Rs 8.80 lakh, and comes in a total of four variants: XTA, XZA+, XZA+ DT, and XZA NRG. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. Here's a close look at the variant-wise pricing of the iCNG-AMT variants of the Tiago and Tigor:

With the new AMT option, the CNG versions of the Tigor and Tiago are now available with a 5-speed manual as well as a 5-speed automatic gearbox option. This update makes them the first factory-fitted CNG vehicles in India to be offered with an automatic gearbox. Bookings for the models are already underway for a token amount of Rs 21,000.

Tata Tiago, Tigor iCNG Automatic: Engine Specs, Colour Options

Under the hood, the Tata Tigor and Tiago are equipped with a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, petrol engine that cranks out 85bhp and 113Nm of torque when using petrol. In CNG mode, the engine generates 72bhp and 95Nm of torque. As mentioned earlier, transmission options for the CNG-powered Tigor and Tiago include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automatic unit. According to Tata, the CNG automatic vehicles will offer improved low-speed driveability in slow-moving traffic and when dealing with stop-and-go traffic. The models boast a mileage of 28.06 Km/kg.

Apart from that, the brand has introduced new colour options on the models. Along with existing colour schemes, there is now a new Tornado Blue option for the Tiago and Grassland Beige for the Tiago NRG, while the Tigor comes in a new Meteor Bronze colour.

Tata Tiago, Tigor iCNG: Features

In comparison to other CNG vehicles, the Tata Tiago and Tigor CNG's segment-first dual-cylinder layout provides additional cargo space. Additionally, you also get a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a semi-digital instrument cluster, an eight-speaker setup, and auto air conditioning. In terms of safety, the models offer a rear parking camera with sensors, a rear defogger, a tyre pressure monitor, and dual front airbags. At the moment, Tata Motors' CNG portfolio comprises the Tiago, the Tigor, the Altroz and the Punch.
