7-seater cars in India are emerging as a preferred option among several buyers, thanks to their practical design and family-oriented features. These cars prioritise everyday usability over flashy styling while staying up to date with modern technology. From versatile MPVs to rugged SUVs, the segment offers plenty of options from automakers like Maruti Suzuki and Toyota, which continue to lead with well-rounded products suited for both urban and long-distance commutes. In FY2026, the segment witnessed significant growth, with overall dispatches hitting 9.34 lakh units, representing a 7.4% year-on-year increase. Here’s a closer look at the top 5 best-selling 7-seater cars in FY2026.

The Ertiga sold 1.99 lakh units, exhibiting 4.1% year-on-year increase from 1.91 lakh units sold during FY2025. The MPV’s practicality and affordability make it an ideal option for both private buyers and fleet operators, helping it command a segment-leading 21.3% share.
The Scorpio lineup (including Classic and N variants) secured the second spot on the list, with 1.79 lakh units, registering an 8.5% YoY growth. Compared to FY2025, when the SUV sold 1.65 lakh units, there was a sale of an additional 13,958 units.

The Scorpio SUVs in India are widely appreciated for their rugged look, commanding road presence, and capable diesel engines. It is a proper full-size SUV under a Rs 20 lakh price bracket.

The Innova range in India recorded selling 1.12 lakh units overall, showing a rise of 4.6% YoY. In FY2025, the moniker gained 1.07 lakh buyers. The Crysta and Hycross are one of the strong players of India’s growing MPV market, and are widely preferred by large Indian families.
The Bolero posted one of the highest growth rates among the top five, rising 16.2% YoY with 1.10 lakh units sold. The SUV’s robust build and commanding road presence make it an appealing option in both rural and semi-urban markets. The Bolero remains a dependable workhorse, especially in markets where ruggedness and low upkeep are key priorities.

Despite a decline of 6.1%, the Mahindra SUVs emerged as the fifth best-seller in FY2026. It sold 87,412 units, compared to 93,082 units in FY2025. Mahindra launched the XUV 7XO (a completely revamped version of the XUV700) at a starting price of Rs 13.66 lakh (ex-showroom) earlier this year. The XUV700 has always been a popular choice in the premium SUV segment, thanks to its modern features, powerful engine options, and robust safety credentials.
