The Brezza maker kept its No. 1 position, while Tata Motors and Mahindra claimed second and third places, respectively. Growing demand for SUVs, better rural market performance, and attractive financing options significantly boosted sales last month. Maruti Suzuki retained its undisputed leadership position in February 2026, selling 1.61 lakh units in the domestic market, around 209 units more than in the same month last year. This translated into a marginal year-on-year growth of 0.13%, while the brand commanded a massive 38.29% market share.

The Nexon manufacturer emerged as the second best-selling car brand in the previous month. It sold 62,239 units, marking a robust 34.03% year-on-year increase from 46,435 units sold in February of last year.

With a 14.80% market share, Tata strengthened its position in the passenger vehicle space.

Mahindra secured the third spot with over 60,000 units sold in February 2026. Compared to the same month last year, when 50,420 units were sold, this was a solid 19.04% growth. The Scorpio manufacturer held a 14.27% share of the total passenger vehicle market.

The Creta manufacturer ranked fourth on the list with 52,407 units sold. This translated to a 9.81% year-on-year increase from 47,727 units sold in February 2025. The company captured 12.46% of the market.

Toyota completed the top five list with 30,737 units sold in February 2026, marking a growth of 16.37% year-on-year. For reference, the company sold 26,414 units in February 2025. In the last month, Toyota held a 7.31% market share.
