Maruti Suzuki remained the best-selling car brand in July 2025. It sold 1.38 lakh units, which was more than the combined sales of Mahindra (49,871 units) and Hyundai (43,973). The manufacturer also dominated the best-sellers list, with four models in the top five. The Dzire sedan stood out as the highest-selling car, posting a 79% year-over-year increase. It surpassed June's winner, the Creta, which recorded sales of 16,898 units.

The Brezza manufacturer recorded a 0.23% YoY growth in July, with 1.38 lakh units sold. This was a volume growth of about 313 units, compared to 1.37 lakh units sold in the month of July last year.

Maruti Suzuki has recently updated the safety standards of a lot of its popular models. Notably, the XL6, Baleno, Fronx, and the Ertiga now come with six airbags as standard across all variants.

Mahindra sold 49,871 units in July 2025, marking an increase of 19.82% year-on-year. For reference, the Scorpio manufacturer supplied 41,623 units during July 2024. Mahindra is gearing up to reveal its much-anticipated Vision Concept series on August 15, 2025. The lineup includes Vision S, X, T, and SXT.

Despite a YoY drop of 10.28%, Hyundai was the third best-seller in July. It supplied 43,973 units to the market, about 5,040 less than the 49,013 units sold in the previous year.

The Nexon manufacturer sold 39,521 units last month, registering a YoY decrease of 11.64% from 44,727 units sold in the same month last year. This was a volume decline of about 5,206 units. Tata has recently introduced the new Adventure X variants for the Harrier and Safari SUVs in India.

The Safari Adventure X starts at Rs 19.99 lakh, while the Harrier Adventure X and Adventure X+ begin at Rs 18.99 lakh and Rs 19.34 lakh, respectively. These are ex-showroom prices.

The automaker saw a marginal 1.27 year-on-year decrease in July, with 29,159 units sold. Compared to 29,533 units sold in July of last year, this was a volume decline of 374 units.
