Maruti Suzuki surpassed several carmakers, including Mahindra and Tata Motors, to become the best-selling car brand in June 2025.

Maruti Suzuki retained its position as the best-selling carmaker in June 2025, with over 1 lakh units sold. It was followed by Mahindra and Hyundai, both of which recorded sales of more than 40,000 cars in the last month. The total sales for the passenger vehicle market stood at 3.18 lakh units, showing a decline of 6.38% from 3.39 lakh units sold in June of last year. Below is the list of the top five best-selling carmakers of June 2025.
Maruti Suzuki clocked sales of 1.19 lakh units last month, showing a decline of 13.31% year-on-year. It also suffered a MoM loss, with sales dropping by 12.5%.

For reference, Maruti Suzuki sold 1.36 lakh units in May this year.

The Scorpio manufacturer was the second best-seller last month, with 47,306 units sold. Compared to 40,022 cars sold in June 2024, this was a growth of 18.20%. However, on a MoM (month-on-month) basis, the carmaker experienced a decline of 9.8%.

Hyundai secured third position on the list, with 44,024 cars sold last month. Compared to May 2025, when 43,861 units were sold, this was a slight increase of 0.4%. However, the year-on-year sales fell sharply by 13.9% in June.

Despite a decline of 14.80% year-on-year, Tata Motors became the fourth best-selling car brand in June 2025. It sold 37,083 units, compared to last year's 43,527 units. The Nexon manufacturer also faced a decline of 10.8% in sales from May 2025.

Toyota experienced a YoY growth of 2.72% in June. It sold 26,453 units last month, compared to 25,752 units. However, compared to 29,280 units sold in the month of May this year, the carmaker witnessed a drop of 9.7%.
