The Maruti Suzuki Dzire was the best-selling car in India in July 2025. It sold 20,895 units, marking a YoY growth of 79%.

The battle for the top spot between the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and the Hyundai Creta is getting more intense with each passing month. After losing the title to the Creta in June, the Dzire has now regained its position as India's best-selling car in July. The sedan was also the top-seller in May. While the tug-of-war between these two popular models is shaping up to be one of the most exciting rivalries in the Indian auto market, several other cars on the list are also performing well. Here's a breakdown of sales for the top 5 cars on the list in July 2025.
The Dzire made a strong comeback in July, with sales reaching 20,895 units. This was a remarkable 79% increase from 11,647 units sold in July of last year.

Currently, the Dzire has a starting price of Rs 6.84 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. It has a 1.2-litre Z Series naturally aspirated petrol engine and is also available with a CNG option.

Despite a YoY decline of 3%, the Hyundai Creta secured second spot on the list. It sold 16,898 units, compared to last year's 17,350 units. The starting price of the Creta in India is Rs 11.11 lakh. Mechanically, the SUV offers three options: a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine.

The Ertiga was the third best-seller last month. It saw 16,604 buyers, which marked a YoY rise of 6%. The MPV recently gained six airbags as standard across all variants, resulting in a 1.4% price hike. It now starts at Rs 9.12 lakh (ex-showroom).

The hatch sold 14,710 units in July, representing a decline of 9% from 16,191 units sold in the same month last year. The Maruti Suzuki car is available with two engine options: a 1.0-litre petrol and a 1.2-litre petrol engine. It also comes with a CNG powertrain. The hatch's price in India starts at Rs 5.79 lakh.

Another Maruti Suzuki model that made it to the top 5 was the Swift, with 14,190 units. Compared to 16,854 units sold in July of last year, this was a decrease of 16%.

The hatchback is equipped with a Z-series 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. Its price starts at Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
