The Tata Nexon has become the best-selling car in India for the third consecutive month. In November, the compact SUV sold 22,434 units, over 7,000 more than it did in the same month last year. Other best-selling cars for the month include the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Tata Punch, and Hyundai Creta. All of the top five models on the list have strong Year-on-Year (Y-o-Y) sales growth. Here’s a breakdown of the top five best-selling cars in India last month.
The Tata Nexon's soaring popularity in the compact SUV segment helped it attain a notable YoY growth of 46% last month, compared to the 15,329 units sold in November 2024. The Tata SUV is available with petrol, diesel, and CNG options. The 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine produces 118bhp and 170Nm, while the 1.5-litre diesel engine delivers 113bhp and 260Nm. The CNG variant, featuring a 1.2-litre turbocharged bi-fuel engine, produces 99bhp and 170Nm. Tata also offers the Nexon in an all-electric version (30kWh and 45kWh).

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire remained the second best-selling car last month. Its performance was the most outstanding among the top five, with a massive 79% Y-o-Y growth. Compared to last year’s 11,779 units, the Dzire sold 21,082 units in November 2025.
The Dzire has a 1.2-litre Z Series petrol engine that produces a maximum power output of 80bhp and a peak torque of 112Nm and is mated to a five-speed manual or an AMT transmission. It also comes with a CNG powertrain on select variants, producing 68bhp and 102Nm.

Maruti Suzuki's most popular hatchback, the Swift, secured the third position with 19,733 units sold in November 2025. Compared to 14,737 units sold last year, this marks a growth of 34% year-on-year.
The hatchback also features a Z-series 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder gasoline engine (similar to the Dzire).

The Tata Punch secured the fourth spot on November’s best-selling car list, with 18,753 units sold. This represents a notable 21% increase over the 15,435 units sold in the same month last year.
The micro SUV offers multiple powertrain options (petrol, CNG, and electric). The petrol variant is powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine that produces 84bhp and 113Nm, and is paired with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT. The CNG model uses the same engine to offer 72 bhp and 103 Nm through a manual gearbox. The electric Punch EV offers two battery options: a 25kWh pack providing a range of 315 km, and a 35kWh pack capable of 421 km on a single charge (MIDC).

The Creta SUV was the fifth best-selling car in November, with 17,344 units sold. It demonstrated steady demand, with a healthy 12% year-on-year growth over the 15,452 units sold in November 2024.
The Hyundai Creta comes with a range of 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol produces 113bhp and 144Nm of torque, while the turbo-petrol variant delivers a more powerful 158bhp and 253Nm. The 1.5-litre diesel generates 114 bhp and 250Nm of torque.

Transmission options include a six-speed manual, six-speed automatic, Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), and a seven-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT). For the electric variant, the Creta EV is offered with two battery options: a 42kWh pack and a larger 51.4kWh unit.
