Car buyers in India, particularly those with large families, prefer spacious and practical cars like SUVs and MPVs over fancy models, making them the top choice across the country. Currently, the SUV and MPV segments feature several popular models such as the Hyundai Creta, Toyota Innova Hycross, and Kia Carens. However, this landscape will expand soon, with new offerings from notable manufacturers. While the launch dates of some models are confirmed, others are still generating buzz in the rumour mill. Here’s a look at some SUVs and MPVs set to go on sale in India soon.
The MG M9 will go on sale in India on July 21, 20225, after making its debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo earlier this year. The electrified MPV will be a premium MPV, available through the brand's select network of dealerships. It will be offered in a single fully loaded variant and three colours (Luminous White, Mystic Grey, and Cardiff Black).
In terms of features, the MG M9 will be well-equipped. Notable amenities include a digital internal rearview mirror (IRVM), 16-way adjustable Ottoman-style rear seats with a massage function, 13-speaker JBL audio setup, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging.
The electric MPV comes with a single 90kWh battery mated to a front-wheel-drive setup. It is powered by a single electric motor that produces 242bhp and 350Nm. The claimed range stands at 548 kilometres. Price-wise, the Kia MPV could start at around Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom).

VinFast Auto India has commenced bookings for the flagship VF7 in India at a token amount of Rs 21,000. The electric SUV will launch in India sometime in August. It made its debut at the Auto Expo this year. The VF7 will come equipped with a range of advanced features, including a 12.9-inch touchscreen, dual-zone automatic climate control, an 8-way powered driver’s seat, head-up display, vegan leather upholstery, PM1.0 air purifier with an ionizer.
The electric SUV will also have an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, seven airbags (including a knee airbag for the driver), and Level 2 ADAS.
The VinFast VF7 comes in two global variants (Eco and Plus), both using a 75.3kWh battery (70.8kWh usable). The Eco, a single-motor FWD, offers 201bhp, 310Nm, and 450 kilometres of WLTP range, reaching 100km/h in 9.5 seconds. The Plus, a dual-motor AWD, boasts 348bhp, 500Nm, 431 kilometres of range, and a 0-100km/h time of 5.8 seconds. There's no confirmation, but India is expected to receive only the Plus variant. The VF7 is likely to be priced at approximately Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Another VinFast model ready to go on sale in India is the VF6. Bookings for the electric SUV are also open for a sum of Rs 21,000. The car is compact and has a sportier look. It is equipped with amenities like a heated and ventilated front seat, a 12.9-inch touchscreen, automatic climate control, head-up display, Level 2 ADAS, and a 360-degree camera.
The VinFast VF6, a front-wheel-drive SUV, comes in Eco (174bhp, 250Nm, 399 kilometres of WLTP range) and Plus (201bhp, 310Nm, 381 kilometres of WLTP range) variants, both with a 59.6kWh battery. It accelerates from 0-100km/h in 8.89 seconds. VinFast is expected to price the VF6 around Rs 17 lakh (starting, ex-showroom).
Renault will introduce the Triber Facelift in India on July 23, 2025. The updated MPV will now include a bigger touchscreen infotainment system (around 8 inches), a digital instrument console, cruise control, and a 360-degree camera.
On the mechanical front, the Renault car will retain its 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which can be paired with either a five-speed manual or AMT transmission. It will also continue to offer a CNG variant through dealer installation. With considerable updates, the updated Renault Triber MPV will command a notable premium over the current version, which is priced between Rs 6.10 and Rs 8.97 lakh (both, ex-showroom).
