Here are some of the hatchbacks that outshined the rest with notable sales numbers in November 2022.
While SUVs are in the trend, hatchbacks still rule the budget end of the Indian car market. So, here are some of the best-selling hatchbacks from the month of November 2022.
1. Maruti Suzuki Baleno
The premium hatchback from the country's largest automaker recorded a monthly sales figure of a whopping 20,945 units in November 2022, marking an astronomical rise of 111% in YoY growth compared to the same period, last year, when Maruti Suzuki managed to sell only 9,931 units. The starting price of the Baleno is ₹6.49 lakh (ex-showroom), which goes up to ₹9.71 lakh (ex-showroom).
2. Maruti Suzuki Alto
The Maruti Suzuki Alto grabbed second position on the list of best-selling hatchbacks, thanks to 15,663 units sold in November 2022. This marks a 13% YoY growth over the 13,812 units sold in the same month a year ago. The accessibility of the Alto 800, along with the Alto K10 and the Alto 800 in CNG, is the main reason behind its commendable performance in November's sales chart.
3. Maruti Suzuki Swift
In November 2022, Maruti Suzuki dispatched 15,153 units of the Swift. The hatchback registered a 4% YoY growth, as it sold 14,568 units during the same time last year. The Swift's prices begin from ₹5.91 Lakh and go up to ₹8.84 Lakh (ex-showroom).
4. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R
The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R has always been a popular choice among hatchback buyers in the country. In November 2022, the Maruti sold 14,720 units as compared to 16,853 units in the same month of 2021. Despite the drop in sales numbers, the Wagon R still made it to the top 5. Its prices start from ₹5.47 lakh and go up to ₹7.19 lakh (ex-showroom).
5. Hyundai Grand i10 Nios
Hyundai sold 7,961 units of the Grand i10 Nios in November 2022. Last year, the company managed to sell only 5,466 units in the same month. The Grand i10 Nios is priced between ₹5.43 lakh and ₹8.45 lakh (ex-showroom).
6. Hyundai i20
A total of 7,236 units of Hyundai's premium hatchback were sold in November 2022, marking a 65% YoY growth, as the carmaker sold 4,391 units of the i20 in the same month last year. The price of the i20 starts at ₹7.07 Lakh and goes all the way up to ₹11.62 lakh (ex-showroom).
7. Tata Tiago
In November 2022, Tata sold 5,097 units of the Tiago, marking a 2% increase in its sales (4,998 units in November 2021). This year, the firm has added electric and CNG-powered Tiago models to the range, highlighting Tiago's adaptability to match the needs of customers. The hatchback costs between ₹5.45 lakh and ₹7.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
