Toyota Fortuner Flexy Fuel 1

Toyota revealed the Fortuner SUV's flex-fuel version at the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). The brand-new Fortuner Flexy Fuel E-100 is powered entirely by bioethanol. In addition to being more environmentally friendly than traditional fossil fuels, bioethanol is said to have a better octane rating than standard petrol. In Indonesia, the automaker has showcased the model in the prototype stage. To achieve 100% bioethanol compatibility, the carmaker modified the same engine that powers the Fortuner SUV that runs on petrol. The updated engine in the Flexy Fuel prototype can produce 161bhp and 243Nm when connected to a 5-speed automatic gearbox.

However, given the automaker's emphasis on cleaner mobility, there is a significant likelihood that this flex-fuel Fortuner may eventually make it to Indian soil.
