Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition with Sporty Design and 201bhp Diesel Engine Unveiled in India

Toyota has introduced a new version of the Fortuner SUV in the Indian market. Touted as the Leader Edition, this latest model comes with a few exterior changes, along with some additional features. On the outside, the Leader Edition features a striking dual-tone exterior paint and blacked-out alloy wheels. The special edition car gets the front and rear bumper spoilers, installed by authorised dealers. Buyers can choose from three colour options – Super White, Platinum Pearl White, and Silver Metallic, all of which come with a contrasting Black roof. Inside, the Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition has two-tone seats, auto-folding outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a wireless charger. 

Under the bonnet, the Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition is powered by a 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which makes 201bhp and 420Nm when coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox and 201bhp and 500Nm with a 6-speed automatic unit. This new version comes in a single 4x2 configuration. 

Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition: Expected Price

Although the price of the model is yet to be revealed by Toyota, the Leader Edition is expected to command a premium over the standard version. For your reference, the Toyota Fortuner in a 4x2 guise ranges from Rs 35.93 lakh to Rs 38.21 lakh for the diesel variants, whereas the petrol variants cost Rs 33.43 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. Bookings for the Fortuner Leader Edition are now open through the company's official website and authorised dealerships across India. In terms of market competition, the Toyota Fortuner rivals the Skoda Kodiaq, MG Gloster, and Jeep Meridian, the last of which is due to get a facelift this year.
