Toyota is gearing up to launch the face-lifted Etios and Liva in the festival season. These mid-cycle refreshed cars were recently launched in Brazil and reveal what we can expect from the India-bound Etios and Liva as they are likely to receive the same upgrades.

Based on the Etios and hatcback (Liva) Platinum variants, the Indian versions will also receive an aggressive front grille with a prominent V-design in the centre along with chrome borders. The front bumpers get imposingly large air dam and also house fog lamps. It actually looks quite sporty. The new 15-inch alloy wheels are gorgeous, to say the least, and the top variants of both the sedan and the hatchback will get side skirts and rear spoilers.

The cabin gets an all-black interiors and a much better looking digital instrument cluster, though it remains on the centre of the dashboard. It all receives a much needed touchscreen infotainment system, which doubles up as a navigation system. The Brazil version comes with Cruise Control and is powered by a 105bhp, 1.5-litre petrol engine, which has 17bhp more than the Indian version. The Brazilian-spec also comes with a four-speed automatic. But we expect Toyota to retain the current two engines -- 88bhp, 1.5-litre petrol, and 67bhp, 1.4-litre diesel with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Overall though, with this update Toyota will be giving the Etios sedan and Etios Liva hatchback a much needed upgrade to bring them in sync with its rivals in regard to styling, equipment and increasing the desirability quotient of the cars as a whole. Thereby giving them a much need lifecycle upgrade.

Prices of the face-lifted Etios and Etios Liva will hover around the same range as those of the current models.
