Triumph Scrambler 400 X Gets Tubeless Spoke Wheels as Retrofit, Priced at Rs 71,751

Triumph turned heads in May with the launch of the Scrambler 400 XC, priced at Rs 2.94 lakh. Built to be tougher than the standard Scrambler 400 X, the XC came ready for adventure with cross-spoke tubeless wheels. Now, Triumph has announced that these wheels will be available separately for 400 X owners, offering them the chance to give their bikes a proper off-road upgrade.

What’s interesting is that while the XC continues to include the spoke wheels as standard with no price hike, Triumph is now giving 400 X riders a solid upgrade option. For those who want better performance on rough roads—but don’t want to switch to a new bike—this accessory could be the perfect solution. It’s a smart move aimed at riders who like to mix city riding with weekend trails.

The spoke wheels are more than just a cosmetic touch. Compared to the stock alloy setup, they handle bumps better and bring a timeless scrambler charm to the bike’s look. They’re especially useful for riders who often find themselves off-road or on poor roads. Plus, the combination of a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear keeps the bike balanced and capable across varied surfaces.

But there's a catch—the wheels aren’t cheap. Triumph is asking Rs 71,751 for the pair (Rs 34,876 for the front and Rs 36,875 for the rear). That’s nearly 26% of the 400 X’s ex-showroom price. While the upgrade improves both performance and looks, the price might feel a bit steep for those watching their budget.

Still, it’s nice to see Triumph offering more flexibility to its riders. Whether or not owners go for the upgrade will come down to how much they value off-road confidence and that rugged, old-school scrambler vibe. For some, it could be just the right excuse to take the bike off the tarmac more often.
