August 2025 will see a host of models, including the VinFast VF7 and the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53, enter the Indian market. Let's know about these and other car launches in detail.

August 2025 will be an exciting month for car enthusiasts and buyers in India, with a variety of models set for launch. The upcoming releases include everything from eco-friendly electric cars for city driving to stylish new premium and performance vehicles. As automakers prepare for these major reveals, there is a lot of excitement in the market, showing how quickly the industry is evolving and how the preferences of Indian buyers are changing. Let's take a look at some of the upcoming car launches in India.

Volvo will introduce the updated XC60 in India on August 1, 2025. The SUV will have a revamped grille, reshaped bumpers, new alloy wheel patterns, and three new paint options. It will also feature darker taillamps. Inside, the SUV will now sport a vertically oriented 11.2-inch touchscreen powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Platform. The setup will deliver enhanced responsiveness, sharper graphics, and built-in Google functionality with wireless updates.

Mechanically, the SUV will remain unchanged, which means you'll get the same 2.0-litre mild-hybrid petrol motor linked to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and a capable all-wheel-drive system. As for prices, the SUV is expected to get a significant hike over the outgoing model, which starts at 70.75 lakh (ex-showroom).

Mercedes-Benz AMG CLE 53 4MATIC+ will make its way to India on August 12. It will feature a potent 3.0-litre, twin-turbo inline-six petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system. This drivetrain produces 442.5bhp and 560Nm of torque, with an added 40Nm of torque delivered momentarily through Overboost.
Power is delivered to all four wheels through a nine-speed AMG-tuned dual-clutch transmission and the 4Matic+ system, helping the coupe sprint from 0 to 100km/h in a claimed 4.2 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h but can be raised to 270km/h with the optional AMG Performance Package.
Notable exterior and interior features include sharp LED DRLs, a sculpted bumper, a signature AMG grille, turbine-style vents, dual digital displays, and an AMG flat-bottom steering wheel with touch controls. Price-wise, the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 is likely to have a price tag of approximately Rs 2 crore (ex-showroom).

Mahindra will reveal its much-anticipated Vision Concept series at its 'Freedom NU' event in Mumbai on August 15. The lineup includes the Vision S, T, X, and SXT. All four concepts will use Mahindra’s new Freedom_NU platform. This flexible base supports petrol, diesel, electric, and hybrid powertrains. They’ll be built at the Chakan plant near Pune. The Mahindra Vision SXT hints at a rugged pickup concept, possibly based on the Scorpio-N platform, while the Mahindra Vision S appears to preview the electric version of the Scorpio-N. More confirmed details will be revealed at the official debut.

Vietnamese EV manufacturer's VF7 SUV is set to go on sale in August, though the exact launch date has not been confirmed yet. Bookings for the car are open for a token amount of Rs 21,000. The VinFast VF7 will serve as the brand’s flagship model in India. Design-wise, the electric SUV will stand out with its V-shaped DRLs, LED headlights, flush door handles, and an aggressive rear diffuser. Inside, the VF7 will come equipped with a host of advanced features such as a panoramic glass roof, dual-zone automatic climate control, vegan leather upholstery, PM1.0 air purifier with an ionizer, and ventilated front seats.

The VinFast VF7 offers two variants globally: Eco and Plus, both with a 75.3 kWh battery (70.8 kWh usable). The Eco features a single front motor (201bhp, 310Nm, 450 kilometres of WLTP range, 0-100km/h acceleration in 9.5 seconds). The Plus boasts dual-motor AWD (348bhp, 500Nm, 431 kilometres of WLTP range, 0-100km/h sprint in 5.8 seconds). In India, the carmaker is expected to introduce only the Plus variant. The SUV is likely to start at around Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom).
