Upcoming Cars Under Rs 10 Lakh in India: Next-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift, New Hyundai Exter SUV & More

Hyundai Exter

This new compact SUV from Hyundai is ready to roll on the streets of India. Bookings for the all-new Exter are currently underway at Rs 11,000. Mechanically, it will come equipped with a 1.2-litre inline four-cylinder, normally aspirated petrol engine and a CNG fuel option. For transmission, the Exter CNG variant will only employ a manual gearbox, and the petrol models will use either a five-speed manual or an AMT automatic gearbox.

Hyundai has not shared official power and torque figures yet, however, market reports reveal that the petrol engine will presumably make 83bhp of power and 114Nm of torque. The CNG engine, on the other hand, will likely produce 69bhp of maximum power and 95.2Nm of peak torque. Hyundai will introduce its new SUV in the nation on July 10. The Exter SUV's price will reportedly range from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. Prices are ex-showroom. 

Nissan's 7-seater MPV

Nissan will likely introduce an all-new 7-seater MPV in India sometime next year. There are not many details available on the upcoming MPV, however, market speculations reveal that it would be based on the Renault Triber and share its mechanical specs and features. Mechanically, a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, paired with a manual and AMT gearbox, is likely to drive the new MPV. According to market reports, a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with manual and CVT choices will also be available for the MPV. Price-wise, the brand-new 7-seater MPV is expected to range between Rs 6.5 lakh and Rs 9.5 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. 

New Maruti Suzuki Swift

The updated Maruti Suzuki Swift is in the works for the Indian market. The Japanese automaker will presumably introduce the redesigned model in our market in sometime 2024. Talking about the engine, a new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol unit, benefiting from Toyota's powerful hybrid technology, will reportedly power the hatchback. According to media reports, the new model of the hatchback will guarantee an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of between 35km/l and 40km/l.

Design-wise, The forthcoming hatchback will have a more angular outlook and a sportier build than the existing model. The hatchback's front end will have a brand-new grille and more sleek headlights with new LED components. A redesigned front bumper, blacked-out pillars, fake air vents on the wheel arches, new body panels, and a roof-mounted spoiler are a few further cosmetic updates. On the inside, the new Maruti Suzuki Swift may get a new SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system. The device might include wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Next-gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire

Maruti Suzuki is not only planning to bring the Swift with a generational change but also the Dzire sedan. The new Dzire will expectedly mark its entry into our market in 2024. As far as styling is concerned, heavy modifications are expected from the carmaker for the upcoming sedan. Mechanically, the revamped sedan is anticipated to come equipped with a 1.2-litre petrol engine with powerful hybrid technology. Additionally, it will likely have a revised Heartect Platform. Price revelation of the next-gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire has time, but industry speculations are rife that the new sedan could retail between Rs 7 lakh to Rs 13 lakh.
