VinFast has expanded into the ultra-luxury electric vehicle (EV) market with the global unveiling of the Lac Hong 800S and Lac Hong 900S EVs. Scheduled for a 2027 launch, these flagship models will serve as the premier offerings in the manufacturer’s international portfolio, positioned to compete in the high-end electric segment. The new Lac Hong series joins the existing 900 LX to form a comprehensive premium range. Simultaneously, the Vietnamese automaker has implemented a new corporate structure that reorganises its vehicle lineup into three strategic brands, establishing a foundation for its global expansion strategy ahead of the 2027 launch.

The brand’s new structure splits its portfolio into three clear divisions: Lac Hong, VF and Green. Lac Hong will represent the luxury arm, focusing purely on high-end electric vehicles. The VF series will continue to cater to mainstream passenger EV buyers. Meanwhile, the Green line will handle commercial mobility solutions such as electric taxis and buses. This clear segmentation helps VinFast target different customer groups across international markets with defined product positioning.
Design plays a big role in the Lac Hong 800S and 900S. Both EVs feature styling inspired by Vietnamese culture. The front grille gets vertical bamboo-shaped slats, while detailing takes cues from traditional bronze drums. Inside, the cabin uses Nappa leather, rare wood trims and gold-plated accents. The 800S follows a modern design theme, whereas the 900S leans towards a more classical layout.

Performance is equally serious. Both luxury EVs use a tri-motor setup with one motor at the front and two at the rear. Combined power output stands at 460kW. The EVs also get a fully active suspension system designed to improve ride comfort and stability across different road conditions. This setup places them among the most powerful electric EVs in VinFast’s current line-up.
The Lac Hong 900S focuses strongly on rear-seat comfort. It includes a privacy glass partition between the driver and passenger cabin, a starlight headliner, a large projection screen and a foldable workstation. Both the 800S and 900S feature zero-gravity seats and power-assisted doors for rear passengers. The luxury push follows strong domestic growth in 2025, when VinFast delivered 175,099 vehicles, signalling its intent to compete with established global luxury EV brands.
