VinFast is gearing up to open pre-bookings for its first India-specific EVs – the compact VF 6 and mid-size VF 7, starting on July 15. Customers can reserve these models ahead of delivery later this year, as VinFast prepares to launch with an initial network of 32 dealerships across 27 cities, expanding to 35 by year-end. The VF 6 features a 59.6kWh battery powering a front-mounted motor that generates 201bhp and 310Nm, offering an estimated range of up to 400 km. Meanwhile, the larger VF 7 comes with a 75.3kWh battery and is expected to boast over 450 km range and optional dual-motor AWD variants. This launch will mark VinFast’s formal entry into India’s rapidly evolving EV market.
The VinFast VF 6 and VF 7 are designed with an aviation-inspired aesthetic, highlighted by a cockpit-style interior and a full-length panoramic glass roof that gives the cabin an airy, modern feel. Though electric, both SUVs feature a stylized honeycomb grille and slim LED DRLs placed above the main headlights, combining form with function.

The VF 6 maintains a minimalist approach with a focus on practicality. It comes in two trims: the Eco version, rated for up to 400 km on a single charge (WLTP estimate), produces 171bhp and 250Nm, while the Plus trim delivers 198bhp and 309Nm, with a slightly reduced range of 381 km. Both get a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

VinFast’s VF 7, a larger five-seat SUV, will lead the brand’s India launch. Powered by a 75.3kWh battery, it is offered in front-wheel and all-wheel-drive versions. The single-motor variant generates 201bhp and 310Nm, with a range of 450 km. The dual-motor version delivers 348 bhp and 500Nm, with a slightly lower 431 km range. The cabin features a 12.9-inch touchscreen in the base model, while the AWD version comes with a larger 15-inch display. Both get Level 2 ADAS features for added safety and driver support.
