VinFast has launched the VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs in India, with prices starting at Rs 16.49 lakh, and Rs 20.89 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom). Bookings for the much-awaited VinFast duo are already open with a token amount of Rs 21,000. The SUVs will be locally assembled at VinFast’s first manufacturing facility in India, located in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. They will set the stage for the Vietnamese EV manufacturer to become a major player in the global vehicle market. In India, the VinFast VF7 will compete against the BMW iX1 LWB, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, and the upcoming Volvo EX30. The VF6, on the other hand, will lock horns with the Hyundai Creta Electric, the Tata Curvv EV, and the Mahindra BE 6. As the VinFast SUVs have finally arrived on our shores after a long wait, let's take a closer look at their India-specific details.

The VF7 is a flagship offering of VinFast in India. It is available in two battery packs and five variants (Earth, Wind, Wind Infinity, Sky, and Sky Infinity). Here's a detailed price list.
| Variants | 59.6kWh | 70.8kWh |
| Earth FWD | 20.89 lakh | |
| Wind FWD | Rs 23.49 lakh | |
| Wind Infinity FWD | Rs 23.99 lakh | |
| Sky AWD | Rs 24.99 lakh | |
| Sky Infinity AWD | Rs 25.49 lakh |
Positioned above the VF6, the SUV measures over 4,500mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,840mm. It has six exterior colour options: Jet Black, Infinity Blanc, Desat Silver, Crimson Red, Zenith Grey, and Urban Mint. These hues are standard across all variants.

In terms of design, the VF7 boasts a strong road presence with angular surfaces and bold character lines. It gets a unique lighting setup from its sibling, with an additional set of DRLs integrated into the projector LED headlamps. The electric SUV rolls on bigger 19-inch alloy wheels and comes equipped with flush-fitting door handles. A VinFast logo and a wide, connected LED taillight bar round off the design.

The India-specific VF7 offers a choice between two battery packs: a smaller 59.6kWh and a bigger 70.8kWh. The Earth variant uses a 59.6kWh battery with 174bhp and 250Nm, with fast charging from 10% to 70% in 24 minutes. The Wind Variant employs a bigger 70.8kWh battery that boosts power to 201bhp, and 310Nm. It claims a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 9.5 seconds.
The Sky Variant brings a dual-motor setup and increases power output to 347bhp and 500Nm. It has a 0-100km/h sprint time of 5.8 seconds. In terms of range, the ARAI-certified figures stand at 431 kilometres for the Sky variant, 438 kilometres for the Earth variant, and 532 kilometres for the Wind variant.
Features-wise, the VF7 offers an extensive list, including both standard and variant-specific options. Key highlights include a panoramic fixed glass roof, ADAS, heated ORVM with memory functions, front ventilated seats, a 12.9-inch infotainment screen, 7 airbags, 360-degree SVM, and cruise control. Inside, the SUV's colour theme differs based on the variant selected.

Unlike the VF7, the VinFast VF6 comes in three variants: Earth, Wind, and Wind Infinity. It offers a single a 59.6kWh battery pack option, FWD, a 2,730mm wheelbase, and 190mm ground clearance. Here's a detailed price list.
| Variants | Prices (ex-showroom) |
| Earth | Rs 16.49 lakh |
| Wind | Rs 17.79 lakh |
| Wind Infinity | Rs 18.29 lakh |
Similar to its bigger sibling, the VF6 boasts futuristic styling. It has V-shaped LED daytime running lights running into the bonnet, creating a link to the VinFast brand logo, as well as LED projector headlights. The SUV has a coupe-like silhouette with a gently sloping roofline. It also has a chunky black plastic cladding that runs along the lower body, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The rear includes a full-width LED light bar that echoes the V-shaped DRLs up front. The colour options are similar to those of the VF7.

Just like its bigger sibling, the VF6 is also very well-equipped. Its features and interior colour scheme vary based on the model selected. For instance, the Infinity adds a large panoramic fixed glass roof, while the Wind variant brings ADAS. Some of the standard features are a 12.9-inch infotainment screen, powered adjustment for the driver's seat, multiple drive and regen modes, 7 airbags, ABS, EBD, and rain-sensing wipers.
