The VinFast VF7 and VF6 electric SUVs are set to go on sale in India in August, following their Indian debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo earlier this year. However, before the launch, the company has begun accepting pre-orders for both SUVs at a token amount of Rs 21,000 through online and offline modes. VinFast is focusing on making EV ownership easy in India by setting up a strong network. It has collaborated with 13 dealers to open 32 showrooms in 27 cities, offering sales, service, and spare parts. These locations are in major and emerging EV markets across the country.
Additionally, VinFast has teamed up with RoadGrid, myTVS, and Global Assure to provide a nationwide charging and after-sales service network, including real-time charging info and AI-powered diagnostics, all to support their customers and promote a greener future. Let's take a closer look at the key specifications of the upcoming Vinfast electric SUVs in India.
The VinFast VF7 will serve as the brand’s flagship model in India. While its design is expected to stay largely in line with its global counterpart, some market-specific adjustments may be introduced to better suit Indian preferences, though no official confirmation has been provided yet. The VF7 is larger than the VF6, measuring 4,545mm in length, 1,890mm in width, and 1,635.75 mm in height. Design-wise, the electric SUV will stand out with its V-shaped DRLs, LED headlights, flush door handles, and an aggressive rear diffuser. Inside, the VF7 will come equipped with a host of advanced features such as vegan leather upholstery, PM1.0 air purifier with an ionizer, a panoramic glass roof, dual-zone automatic climate control, and ventilated front seats. As for the safety, the electric SUV has an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, Level 2 ADAS, and seven airbags (including a knee airbag for the driver).

Globally, the VinFast VF7 is available in two variants (Eco and Plus), both equipped with a 75.3kWh battery (usable capacity of 70.8kWh). The Eco variant has a single front-mounted motor that churns out 201bhp of max power and 310Nm of peak torque, and a WLTP-certified range of up to 450 kilometres. The Plus variant, on the other hand, features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive with 348bhp and 500Nm and a range of up to 431 kilometres. The 0–100km/h sprint time of the Eco is 9.5 seconds, and the Plus is 5.8 seconds. In India, VinFast is expected to launch only the Plus trim.

The VF6 is compact, and has a coupe-inspired sloping roofline. It is 4,241mm long, 1,834mm wide, and 1,580mm tall. The feature list is extensive, including a panoramic glass roof, vegan leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, rear AC vents, and an 8-way power-adjustable ventilated driver’s seat. However, the centrepiece of the cabin is a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, mounted centrally for ease of access. For safety, the VF6 comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS, 7 airbags, and rain-sensing wipers.

Both are powered by a 59.6kWh battery. The WLTP-certified range is up to 399 kilometres for the Eco model and 381 kilometres for the Plus variant. The VF6 can accelerate from 0–100km/h in just 8.89 seconds.
