Volkswagen has announced price reductions across models, including the Virtus, Taigun, and Tiguan R-Line, following the government's decision to implement revised GST starting September 22, 2025. The brand's move aligns with the strategy to stay competitive in a price-sensitive market while enhancing accessibility to its premium offerings. The Tiguan R-Line has received a major price drop of up to Rs 3.27 lakh. It is followed by the Taigun and Virtus, which see reductions of up to Rs 68,400 and Rs 66,900, respectively. Besides the tax-aligned price cuts, Volkswagen is also offering limited-time benefits ranging between Rs 1.61 lakh and Rs 3 lakh on select variants of the Virtus, Taigun, and Tiguan R-Line.
Interestingly, Volkswagen has not included the newly launched Golf GTI in its latest round of announcements, with no official word yet on potential price revisions or offers for the performance hatchback.
Volkswagen recently unveiled the ID. Cross concept at the 2025 Munich Motor Show, previewing a compact all-electric SUV that’s set to become the EV counterpart to the popular T-Cross. The ID. Cross's production version is expected to hit the roads by mid-2026. It will join the growing ID. family, reinforcing the company’s role as a key player in the growing EV space.

The ID. Cross will be underpinned by Volkswagen’s updated MEB+ platform. It is said to feature a front-wheel-drive setup producing 155kW (208bhp) and offer a WLTP range of up to 420 kilometres, thanks to advancements in battery efficiency.
As for the design, the concept boasts Volkswagen’s new “Pure Positive” philosophy. It sports clean lines, a distinctive LED front signature, and floating roof visuals created by darkened pillars. Moreover, the C-pillar's styling gives a subtle nod to brand icons like the Golf and VW Bus.
Inside, the ID. Cross trades glossy finishes for soft-touch surfaces and light-toned materials. A minimalist dashboard houses an 11-inch driver’s display and a 13-inch central touchscreen.

The concept ensures impressive practicality with 475 litres of rear boot space and extra storage under the bonnet.
