Xiaomi is making its debut in the world of racing games with the arrival of its high-performance electric sedan, the SU7 Ultra, in Gran Turismo 7. Teaming up with Japanese developer Polyphony Digital, this marks the first time a Xiaomi vehicle is featured in the legendary racing simulator. It is a big step that reflects how electric cars, especially high-performance ones, are increasingly shaping both real-world racing and virtual motorsport. For gamers and EV fans outside China, it is also a rare chance to get a feel for what Xiaomi’s flagship EV can do, even if only on-screen. Interestingly, Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi recently visited Xiaomi’s EV plant in Beijing, where he met with CEO Lei Jun.

While the in-game release date has not been revealed just yet, Xiaomi and Polyphony have confirmed that the SU7 Ultra will be available to players worldwide once it launches. They have also hinted at something exciting on the horizon – a special Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo concept car that will showcase both companies’ passion for futuristic design, performance, and cutting-edge tech. Details on that are still under wraps for now.
At the core of the SU7 Ultra lies a tri-motor powertrain co-developed with CATL. This setup includes a pair of front-mounted V8-series electric motors, each generating 570bhp and 635Nm, while a rear-positioned V6-series motor contributes 387bhp. Collectively, the system delivers an enormous 1,527bhp. Xiaomi reports staggering acceleration figures: 0 to 100km/h in just 1.97 seconds, 200km/h in 5.96 seconds, and 300km/h in only 15.07 seconds, with top speed reaching 350km/h. Extensive use of carbon fibre helps shed weight compared to the standard model. The car has also proven its mettle at the Nurburgring Nordschleife, setting a lap record for four-door electric vehicles with a time of 6 minutes and 46.874 seconds.

To support such extreme performance, the vehicle features a high-output battery system tailored for competitive use. Its ultra-fast charging capability allows a full recharge in under 12 minutes. Built on a 897-volt architecture, the system can push up to 1,330 kW to the drivetrain and maintain over 880 kW of output even at just 20% battery capacity, ensuring sustained power delivery under demanding conditions.
