Year end mega discounts on offer

Discounts upwards on Rs 1 lakh on offer for mass market cars make for some tempting year end deals

Year endings almost always bring out some great deals and discounts as manufacturers and dealers look to disperse all current year manufactured inventory. This time around though, things have gone a step further with the sales of diesel cars with engines larger than 2.0 litres have been temporarily banned in Delhi till from December 2015 to end March, 2016. This has left dealers in the region stuck with an approximate Rs. 1,000 crore inventory of SUVs, MUVs and larger cars with big diesel engines.

Here is a list of some of the mega discounts above Rs. 1 lakh on mass segment cars;

Rs. 1 lakh + off discounted cars

The Tata Bolt, Chevrolet Beat, Highline variant of the Volkswagen Vento and All-wheel drive variant of the Renault Duster bear total discounts of a little over Rs. 1 lakh. 110PS versions of the Nissan Terrano are on offer with discounts of up to Rs. 1 lakh.

In a recent promotion, Mahindra has also announced discounts of up to Rs. 80,000 on its rather popular Scorpio which is powered by a 2.2 litre diesel engine.

Rs. 1.4 lakh - Rs. 1.9 lakh discounts

The Tata Safari Storme with its 2.2 litre diesel engine has discounts of up to Rs. 1.4 lakh. Top-end RS variant of the diesel Honda Mobilio MPV has a discount of up to Rs. 1.5 lakh as does the

Fiat Avventurra crossover. Renault’s Lodgy has discounts running up to Rs. 1.65 lakh. The Fiat Punto Evo with its limited sales has discounts running up to Rs. 1.75 lakh!

Rs. 2 lakh discounts and above

Maruti Suzuki’s S-Cross crossover bears considerable discounts as well with up to Rs. 1.2 lakh off on the 1.3 litre engined DDiS 200 model while the 1.6 litre engined DDiS 320 model has discounts ranging between Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 2.6 lakh!

The now discontinued Nissan Evalia MPV is still in the inventory books of some dealers with discounts of up to Rs. 3 lakh off.

Meanwhile Renault is offering discounts on its slow selling Fluence D-Segment sedan while the Koleos premium SUV. The Fluence has discounts of up to Rs. 4.5 lakh while the Koleos has offers running up to Rs. 6 lakh!

Discounts on luxury cars

Luxury car makers too are offering some good deals and discounts on popular models. The Audi A4 has offers of up to Rs. 3 lakh on it.

Meanwhile the popular Audi Q3 compact luxury SUV also has a discount of up to Rs. 4 lakh on it. Mercedes-Benz also has offers running up to Rs. 4 lakh including jewellery being offered at the time of purchase of the C-Class.

Select versions of the BMW 3 Series and 5 Series have discounts running up to Rs. 5 lakh on them.

It is recommended that you call up your nearest dealers for the cars mentioned above to find out details of the significant discounts being offered in order to crack a great deal that will also offset the 2015 model year resale value at the time of sale couple years later.
