A look in the rear-view mirror

As we celebrate the proud moment of putting forth our 150th magazine issue, we can't help but look back at the point where it all began - twelve-and-a-half-years back, to be precise. This journey though would have been incomplete and even impossible without the continued support of our readers.

150 issues. Twelve-and-a-half-years. Blood, sweat, guts and tears.

But, more than that, incredible experiences, the impact of which will last a lifetime. I can only hope that, in that time, we’ve had an impact – preferably positive – on your lives as well.

At the risk of being cliché, we couldn’t possibly have achieved this milestone – or any milestone for that matter – without your patronage and support. I hope we’ve been successful in our mission of taking you along for the ride and have been able to genuinely put you in the driver’s seat of the cars we drive and on the saddle of the bikes we ride.

When I started this magazine, over a dozen years ago, I remember how gruelling the journey towards our first issue – which now seems more like a pamphlet rather than an issue – really was. A couple of sleepless nights into that maiden voyage, I couldn’t help but look around the office and wonder what drove the entire team to continue this collective quest for perfection – or, our version of it anyway. An unrelenting pursuit that continues till this day. Let’s just say that we wouldn’t have covered much ground without this shared passion.

To celebrate this issue, we’ve done what we do best – hit the road! The aim was to find some of the best driving roads in this diverse land – in the mountains, jungle, desert and along the coast. To be honest, I’m not entirely certain we were successful in our mission of finding the absolute best roads, but what we have managed to do is uncover driving experiences and journeys that – once completed – will leave an indelible mark on your memory.

Some journeys, after all, are for the soul. Oh, and the roads aren’t bad either. So, happy reading. And happy travels as well…
