Hyundai Elite i20, Track Test

It appears that no amount of praise is adequate for the new i20. Equally, it appears that no additional praise is in the least bit necessary. After all, the i20 is simply flying off the shelves – it’s putting hot cakes to shame. And, again, there’s a very good reason why.

We know the i20 is impressive on the road, but what happens when you put it on the track? Read our Hyundai Elite i20 Review to know.

It appears that no amount of praise is adequate for the new i20. Equally, it appears that no additional praise is in the least bit necessary. After all, the i20 is simply flying off the shelves – it’s putting hot cakes to shame. And, again, there’s a very good reason why.

The Hyundai i20 was one of the first few cars to be launched with Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture design philosophy, and that’s certainly one of the factors which has helped it stand out on the road. In fact, fluidic sculpture is one of the traits that’s allowed Hyundai to truly raise the bar and elevate its profile.

It’s all the car you would ever need on a daily basis. It’s refined, economical, comfortable, great looking, spacious, well built, and extremely well equipped. What happens, then, when you push it to the limit on the track? Well, not much changes actually – it remains extremely well balanced, is always completely composed, and simply takes everything in its stride.

The ride quality during our Hyundai Elite i20 Review was simply sensational – there’s no other way to describe it. The suspension setup is near perfect – not only does it provide a compliant ride over any surface at any speed, but it also feels completely surefooted while doing so. And this has been a bit of an Achilles’ heel for Hyundai in the past, but they appear to have finally cracked it. It doesn’t exactly encourage you to indulge in any unnecessary tomfoolery, but doesn’t rap you on the knuckles either if you happen to do so. Like in every other scenario, it simply gets the job done. As a driver’s car, it’s not the most involving – but it makes up for that by being buttery smooth and extremely capable. And, as the lap time proves, it’s no slouch on track either. It rides the kerbs extremely well, is very well damped and the engine is the smoothest here as well.

So, as an overall package – as a car that gets the job done everyday – there’s very little in present company that matches up to the i20. And that’s probably why people are lined up outside Hyundai showrooms trying to get their hands on one. We can't help but agree to those waiting after our Elite i20 Review.
