Scooters always add a dash of excitement to the autoX Track Day, and this year, the spotlight was firmly on the TVS NTorq 150. It’s a decent step up from its 125cc sibling – sharper, sportier, and smarter in every sense. Now, the TVS NTorq 125 has been hugely sucessful, with over 2 million units sold since it was launched in 2018. We get a feeling that the NTorq 150 could very well sell as much, if not more. Visually, the NTorq 150 looks as if it has rolled straight out of a Transformers movie set. The angular bodywork, sharp front apron, and quad-LED projector headlights give it an aggressive, futuristic appearance. Our test unit, finished in the vibrant Nitro Green, looked striking under the sun. The overall build quality and finish are right up there with the best in the segment.

Where the NTorq 150 really shines is in terms of features. It comes with a colour TFT display with slick graphics and multiple themes, SmartXonnect Bluetooth integration, two riding modes, single-channel ABS, and – believe it or not – traction control. TVS even offers Alexa voice assist and smartwatch connectivity, making the NTorq 150 one of the most tech-loaded scooters on the market today.

The ergonomics are spot on, too. The riding position is comfortable, and while the suspension setup feels plush on city roads, it adds to the sporty nature of the scooter. The scooter has 22 litres of underseat storage, same as its 125 cc sibling.
Powering the NTorq 150 is a 150cc single-cylinder engine, producing 13bhp at 7,000rpm and a max torque of 14.2Nm at 5,500rpm. On paper, it may not seem like a big leap over the 125, but the engine note and throttle response make every ride feel special. The scooter feels lively and eager, and the raspy exhaust note further adds to the fun.

On the Buddh International Circuit, the NTorq 150 was simply a revelation. At high speeds, it felt agile, planted, and stable around corners. The 12-inch wheels may have raised eyebrows but we believe that 14-inch wheels won’t be missed, especially with the current setup. The strengthened chassis works beautifully with the power upgrade. The brakes are sharp and progressive, but the suspension feels a touch soft, making it a bit bouncy on undulations and that may rob you of confidence if you really wanted to wring the throttle all the way through.

So, while it may not allow you to drag knees or scrape pegs, the NTorq 150 offers something just as satisfying: pure, uncomplicated riding fun. Fast, loaded, refined, and full of attitude, it proves that scooters, too, can be fun. With prices ranging from ₹1.09 lakh to 1.18 lakh, the NTorq 150 is the most affordable 150 cc scooter in India.
