Sponsored: How far can you really go across India in 24 hours — through the real India? We set ourselves a simple yet ambitious target: to travel 10 states in 24 hours in a Skoda Kylaq, with the engine running non-stop, except for fuel and driver swaps.
Our route spanned Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and finally West Bengal. We covered 1,452 km in 24 hours (and completed all 10 states in ~28 hours) with three drivers — Aakash, Karan and Shivank — doing 8-hour stints.
Why the Kylaq? Its 1.0-litre TSI engine with a 6-speed torque-converter AT, sorted chassis and comfy suspension made light work of mountain twisties, broken B-roads and long expressway runs. Real-world fuel efficiency: 12.6 km/l on this drive.
Watch the highs, lows, detours, rain, jams, livestock, and a proper slice of India — exactly as it happened.
