Kawasaki hasn’t officially announced, but the Z1100 is expected to arrive in India as a CBU (Completely Built Unit). It will directly compete against the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP.

Kawasaki has introduced the all-new Z1100, a successor to the discontinued Z1000, marking a new chapter for its iconic supernaked lineup. The Z1100 continues the Z legacy while offering significant mechanical and electronic upgrades. At the core is a 1,099cc inline-four engine, a larger displacement, updated version derived from the Ninja 1100SX sport tourer. This engine produces a maximum of 134bhp at 9,000rpm and a peak torque of 113Nm at 7,600rpm. To improve real-world performance, Kawasaki has refined the Z1100’s engine with new camshaft profiles, reshaped intake ports, and a heavier flywheel, boosting response in the low-and mid-rpm ranges. Gearbox updates include longer ratios for 5th and 6th gears.
The frame of the Z1100 comes from the Ninja 1100SX (which also traces back to the Z1000). However, most of the bike's parts and components are new and improved. While the standard Z1100 is equipped with fully adjustable Showa SFF-BP forks and strong Tokico braking components, the higher-spec Z1100 SE has an Ohlins S46 rear shock with a remote preload adjuster, Brembo Monobloc M4.32 callipers, and discs with steel-braided lines. Moreover, the SE visually sets itself apart with an exclusive colour scheme, including distinctive green wheels. Having said that, the handlebars are wider and positioned further forward for improved control on both models.
Compared to its predecessor, the new Z1100 offers a big upgrade in electronics. It features a 5-inch colour display, which offers turn-by-turn navigation and smartphone connectivity, including voice command via Kawasaki’s Rideology App.

Other highlights include Electronic Throttle Valves (which enable cruise control and a dual-direction quick shifter), and a six-axis IMU (which manages lean-sensitive traction control, integrated braking (KIBS), and four selectable riding modes (Sport, Road, Rain, and Manual).
Kawasaki India hasn’t officially announced the Z1100 or Z1100 SE, but their launch is widely expected here.

With features like a 5-inch TFT display, cruise control, a quickshifter, and IMU-based electronics, the Z1100 will sit above the Z900 as a premium offering. It is most likely to hit the Indian market as a CBU and serve as a direct rival to the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP.
