Maruti Suzuki Dzire Long Term Report: August 2017

Desirable

Two months spent with the Maruti Suzuki DZire and my liking for the car has gone from admirable to highly desirable, as the car’s namesake suggests. The Dzire works well in every department and it’s really good especially in the city.

Its strongest points are its ability to be incredibly comfortable in all road and traffic conditions, and its superb refinement levels. The car runs smoothly all the time, and if you are stuck in traffic for extended periods you have enough comfort and entertainment to keep you calm. All of the new Maruti Suzuki cars which share this platform seem to be very good in the cabin in respect to their ergonomics. The engine is super smooth and also offers very respectable mileage for a diesel unit in this segment.

While I did think the brakes were way too soft earlier, I have now gotten completely comfortable with the way they perform. The one thing though that has come up is that there does seem to be a slight squeaking sound coming from the suspension, but it’s definitely not something that seems to be of great concern as the ride quality is still comparable to walking on clouds. The engine performs nicely and the delivers you enough power for calm and composed driving. Even if you seem to find yourself in a hurry, there is enough power on tap to help you get going.
