Aravind KP crowned motorcycle rally champion

Fresh from his triumph in the Raid de Himalaya, Aravind KP added another feather to his cap by winning the 2015 FMSCI Motorcycle National Rally Championship on Sunday.

Riding in Group A for TVS Racing, Aravind KP set the quickest time in the Rally of Chikmagalur, beating teammate Nataraj R by 21 seconds. Abdul Wahid, driving in Group B, finished third overall, with a total time of 53 minutes and four seconds.

The Rally of Chikmagalur covered about 70kms, of which 50kms was timed in form of special stages. The stages were run inside the Kuvempu PG Centre and Police Training Centre, with much of the route similar to the one that will be used in the 4W Asia Cup rally in December.

The season will conclude at the Bangalore Rally next month.
