McLaren is turning heads at Silverstone this weekend with a fresh chrome livery that’s hard to miss. The team has brought back its iconic silver look, a nod to the design fans loved between 2006 and 2014. This is the third year in a row McLaren has revived the chrome theme, continuing a tradition that mixes nostalgia with a modern edge, and it’s clearly something the fans enjoy seeing.
Adrienne Lofton, Vice President of Global Product and Integrated Marketing, Google said: 'Google Chrome is proud to join McLaren for McLaren Racing Live: London at Trafalgar Square to reveal the iconic Chrome livery. Google Chrome provides unparalleled speed and performance to McLaren and consumers worldwide. We're excited to help bring the paddock energy to fans in advance of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.'

Louise McEwen, Chief Marketing Officer, McLaren Racing, said: 'We know that, while we have millions of fans who have been with the McLaren Formula 1 Team for decades, there are millions more who are new to the sport and the team. Being able to celebrate and showcase our long history with the help of Chrome is a fantastic way of bringing these newer fans on the journey with us. To celebrate with so many of our fans in London this week as we get ready for our home race makes it even more special!'
The return of Chrome began in 2023, thanks to McLaren’s partnership with Google Chrome. It made a second appearance in Austin last year, and now it's back again with a new name: Legacy at Speed. The design celebrates McLaren’s racing heritage while adding a futuristic feel, reminding everyone that the team is proud of its past but focused on the road ahead.

Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri will also stand out in their all-black race suits, which feature bold, colourful stripes inspired by the Google Chrome logo. The look ties in perfectly with the car’s design, giving the whole team a sharp, unified presence at their home race. It’s not just about style — it shows off a partnership that’s growing stronger each season.
For Norris, it’s a big weekend. After two Silverstone podiums, he’s eyeing a home win and aiming to close the 15-point gap to Piastri. With local support and the chrome livery, McLaren is hoping for a strong result.
