After finishing fourth at Le Mans 2025, the No. 50 Ferrari 499P has been disqualified. The vehicle, which was driven by Miguel Molina, Antonio Fuoco, and Nicklas Nielsen, failed post-race technical inspections. Its rear wing support deflected 52 mm, exceeding the 15 mm limit specified in Article 3.8.7 of the Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) Technical Regulations, according to officials. The rear wing assembly also lacked four bolts, which is against homologation regulations.
Reportedly, a Ferrari mechanic noticed a missing bolt during the last pit stop, but the team decided not to replace it. Ferrari maintained that the deflection had nothing to do with performance and was only caused by the missing bolts. Le Mans stewards disagreed, pointing out that the bolts had already disappeared by the time the car hit its maximum speed on lap 380, seven laps before the race ended.

The statement read, 'Missing Components on Rear Wing Support: Four bolts were found to be missing from the rear wing support, as per the car’s homologation form. The Team Manager confirmed and accepted the non-compliance with the homologation specifications.
'Rear Wing Deflection: A rear wing deflection of 52mm was recorded during the post-race test, whereas Article 3.8.7 of the LMH Technical Regulations sets the maximum permissible deflection at 15mm. The Team Manager accepted the result and confirmed that the test procedure carried out by the scrutineers was correct. The Competitor did not dispute the measurement.'
Safety concerns were also voiced by Le Mans officials. At high speeds, a weak rear wing could fail, posing a risk. This worry, along with technical infractions, led to a severe punishment. The stewards suggested that the damaged wing might have affected the car's speed during its late-race battle with the No. 51 Ferrari, even though Ferrari claimed there was no performance gain.
The 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans' final Hypercar class results have been changed as a result of this disqualification. Norman Nato, Alex Lynn, and Will Stevens drive the No. 12 Cadillac V-Series.R, which climbs to fourth position. With Mike Conway, Nyck de Vries, and Kamui Kobayashi, the No. 7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid now comes in fifth.

The No. 36 Alpine A424, which is driven by Mick Schumacher, Fred Makowiecki, and Jules Gounon, is also able to secure the final championship point by finishing in tenth place according to the revised Le Mans 2025 results. In addition to affecting Ferrari, this penalty modifies the World Endurance Championship's Hypercar class rankings.
