Formula E has unveiled the Gen3 Evo, which will be in use next season and have a huge performance boost. This new electric marvel is better than its Gen3 predecessor because it has better bodywork, tyres, and power consumption. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.82 seconds, which is faster than current F1 cars and a big improvement. Performance as a whole improves by an amazing two seconds per lap at Monte Carlo. The car now uses its previously unused front motors, switching to an all-wheel-drive setup. This may be the most important change. This reveals that Formula E is still dedicated to new ideas and pushing the limits of electric race technology.

Jeff Dodds, Chief Executive Officer, Formula E said: "The GEN3 Evo heralds a ground-breaking chapter in the evolution of Formula E, embodying our dedication to innovation and high performance achieved sustainably. Featuring unprecedented acceleration and an advanced aerodynamic design, the car that I had the honour of unveiling in Monaco is set to intensify the thrill of our racing, captivating our drivers and fans around the world with truly superior capabilities and performance."

Mohammed Ben Sulayem, President, FIA said: “The FIA and Formula E have been working hard on the development process of this new GEN3 Evo race car, which represents another significant leap forward in electric racing technology. I would like to thank both FIA and Formula E teams for the hard work which underlines our shared commitment to pushing the boundaries of sustainable motorsport while delivering competitive racing.”

Formula E: What New in Gen3 Evo?

Formula E Gen 3 Evo

For the first time in Formula E history, the upcoming Gen3 Evo will have an all-wheel drive. This improvement will be used in qualifying sessions, race starts, and when Attack Mode is turned on, giving the car the best grip and speed on the track. Even though it will still have a power output of 350 kW (about 470 bhp), the Gen3 Evo will have an amazing regenerative braking ability of 600 kW, which means it can fully recharge in just 30 seconds after activating Attack Charge.

With a top speed of 321km/h and an amazing 0-100km/h time of 1.82 seconds, the Gen3 Evo will become the fastest-accelerating single-seater in the world, beating current F1 standards by an impressive 30 per cent. Furthermore, drivers will benefit from better grip thanks to the new, softer Hankook iON tyre, which offers about 10 per cent better stability. Visually, the Gen3 Evo will look different from the previous generation. It will have a new body kit and changes to the front wing.

Another impressive thing about the Gen3 Evo is that it uses regenerative braking, which turns a shocking 50 per cent of the energy used during races back into energy. This huge step forward in technology is a big deal for Formula E. It closes the gap in lap times between Formula E and F1, making it even more of a leader in racing innovation.
