Kush Maini made motorsport history by becoming the first Indian driver to win a Formula 2 race at the iconic Monaco Grand Prix. The Formula 2 Monaco Sprint Race saw Maini dominate from lights to flag while driving for Dams Lucas Oil. He started on pole position due to the reverse-grid rule and never looked back. Racing on the narrow and challenging Monaco street circuit, Maini displayed control, speed, and strategy to take a flawless win that underlined his F2 race craft.
Kush Maini secured a crucial pole position for the Monaco Formula 2 Sprint Race by qualifying tenth for the Feature Race, taking advantage of the reverse-grid format. Starting from the front, he got off to a clean launch and immediately took control of the race. Navigating Monaco’s tight street circuit, Maini showed strong pace and focus through the opening laps, setting the foundation for a competitive race.

As the race progressed, Maini faced constant pressure from Alpine Academy driver Gabriele Mini, who remained close behind throughout. Kush Maini’s racing career began in 2016 with the Italian F4 Championship, where he first displayed his commitment and skill. He continued to rise through the ranks, earning a podium finish in the 2018 British F3 Championship and securing second place overall in the 2020 season. Maini also gained valuable experience in the F3 Asia Series and the FIA World Endurance Championship, building a well-rounded foundation in motorsport.
Beyond Formula 2, Maini has set his sights on Formula 1. As part of the Alpine Academy driver development programme, he is sharpening his racecraft and preparing for opportunities at the top level.
