Kush Maini will get back behind the wheel of the Mahindra M11Electro for the Formula E Rookie Test in Berlin on 14 July. The Indian Formula 2 driver returns to the electric grid after making headlines in Jeddah earlier, where he clocked the fastest lap among rookies. With more time in the Gen3 Evo car under his belt, this test offers another big moment in his growing career.
For Mahindra Racing, Maini’s presence is more than just a seat-filler. The team has shown real signs of progress in 2025, bouncing back with consistent points and podiums in Monaco and Jakarta. They’re currently fifth in the teams’ standings, just six points behind McLaren, and looking to keep that momentum going. Maini’s input in Berlin could help fine-tune the package as the season heads into its final stretch.

'Mahindra is a manufacturer I’ve worked with first-hand a lot over the last 18 months, and I’ve seen the hard work and development that has gone into improving the team’s results on-track.
'It’s a great source of pride for me to represent them, and to help them push on and keep that rate of development going.'

'We’ve been very impressed with his performance and attitude on every occasion he’s stepped into a Mahindra Racing car so far and look forward to working with him again in Berlin.'

Maini’s 2025 Formula 2 season has been quietly turning heads. The Indian driver grabbed a memorable win in the Monaco Sprint Race, showing he can deliver under pressure on one of the toughest tracks. At the same time, he’s balancing duties as Alpine’s Formula 1 reserve driver along with some test runs in the older Alpine F1 cars.
