Mahindra Racing has confirmed that it will continue in the FIA Formula E World Championship as a manufacturer until 2030, and the news arrives just as the series prepares for its GEN4 era. The team has been part of Formula E since the very first season in 2013, and it plans to keep using the championship as a space to develop its electric mobility work. Mahindra also pulled the covers off its new M12Electro race car, which will take up duties in the coming seasons. This decision also strengthens Mahindra’s push to stay active in global motorsport through electric technology.

The GEN4 era will bring a new set of updates for teams, with cars set to produce 450kW of peak power and up to 600kW in Attack Mode. Regenerative braking will go up to 700kW, and the new battery pack will store 55kWh of energy. Aerodynamics will offer two setups, one for qualifying and one for races, and the new cars will use fully recyclable materials to support Formula E’s sustainability goals.
Mahindra Racing has picked up five E-Prix wins, 29 podiums and 11 pole positions since entering the series. Under Frederic Bertrand, the team finished fourth in the latest World Championship with the M11Electro. The new M12Electro will look to continue that run and keep Mahindra in the fight against teams like Porsche, Jaguar and Nissan.
Mahindra’s Formula E journey fits in with the Mahindra Group’s wider focus on electric mobility and environmental responsibility. The team was the first in Formula E to earn the FIA Three-Star Environmental Accreditation. Through its ‘Planet Positive’ programme, Mahindra Racing works on sustainable operations and community-focused environmental projects. These efforts support the group’s ongoing R&D work in electric vehicle systems.

With the sport racing in major cities worldwide, Mahindra Racing’s long-term commitment adds to both Formula E’s future and the wider move towards electric transport.
