Aprilia Racing has officially confirmed that Jorge Martin will remain with the team until the end of the 2026 MotoGP season. Addressing recent MotoGP rumours, the Italian team dismissed claims that Martin was seeking an early exit from his contract. Aprilia clarified that the agreement is legally binding, and both parties are expected to honour it. The statement follows rising speculation after the French GP about Martin’s possible departure due to concerns over Aprilia's MotoGP performance.
Reports suggested Jorge Martin was considering leaving Aprilia early because of doubts about the RS-GP bike’s competitiveness. These concerns grew after his limited track time this season due to injury and underwhelming performances from his teammates. Some sources claimed Martin was exploring an early contract termination, but Aprilia firmly denied the existence of any exit clause that could allow a move before 2026.

This is Aprilia’s first official comment since reports emerged about Martin triggering a performance-related clause. Until now, the MotoGP team had stayed silent. With this announcement, Aprilia aims to shut down any speculation about Martin’s early departure and reaffirm its commitment to the reigning MotoGP world champion. Despite ongoing concerns about the RS-GP bike, Aprilia expressed full confidence in Martin's future with the team.
The statement reads: ‘The contract between Aprilia Racing and Jorge Martin is valid and in effect, and as such, it must be respected by both parties until its expiration (end of 2026).
'Aprilia Racing has honoured it in full, within the agreed upon timelines and terms, and will continue to do so in the future. Aprilia Racing denies that any negotiations have taken place between the parties to modify the duration of the contract, which remains as originally agreed upon’.
Aprilia’s statement clearly says that Jorge Martin’s contract is “valid and in effect” through 2026. The MotoGP team wants to put an end to rumours and reinforce expectations that Martin will stay with Aprilia.
