MotoGP Bharat: What is Moto3?

The FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship was introduced in 2012 by Dorna Sports, the organiser of MotoGP. The Moto3 class is conducted in conjunction with the MotoGP and Moto2 races, as shown on the Motorcycle Grand Prix schedule. The Moto3 class may be directly traced back to a smaller capacity category. Instead of a two-stroke 125cc motor, the motorcycles now have a single-cylinder four-stroke 250cc unit.

Beyond the simple technical, the FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship also serves as a platform for up-and-coming riders. The Moto3 class, which features riders aged 16 to 28, is a popular stepping stone for young riders who want to compete in the premier MotoGP series. The FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship is widely regarded as the best launching pad for a professional career in motorcycle racing on a global scale.
