The inaugural MotoGP Bharat Grand Prix will be held at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) in Greater Noida starting tomorrow, September 22, 2023. With Indian Oil as the new title sponsor, the Grand Prix of India is expecting between 1,000,000 and 1,500,000 spectators throughout the course of race weekend. Saturday will feature the MotoGP sprint race, with qualifying and FP2 taking place on Friday. Sunday is the big day for the race. Indian spectators are getting increasingly pumped for the inaugural MotoGP race. There will be 22 riders from 11 teams competing throughout the course of the three-day motorsport event, including Honda, Yamaha, KTM, Ducati, and Aprilia. On Friday, with no previous data or references, every rider will push themselves to the limits of their exceptional skills throughout two long FP sessions lasting 70 minutes each. The fact that neither team is familiar with the Indian track makes for a level playing field for all of the riders.

MotoGP Bharat GP: The Race

This weekend marks the first time that all three divisions of the series—Moto3, Moto2, and MotoGP—will compete in India. MotoGP's main event will last 24 laps and will feature prototype motorcycles in the 1,000cc class that produce over 250bhp at their peak.

MotoGP Bharat GP: The Track

BIC

The full length of the BIC circuit is 4.96 km. The track features a total of thirteen turns, eight right and five left, including a particularly long straight of 1,006 metres. The overall distance of this MotoGP race is 118.97 km, and there will be 24 laps.

To accommodate the large-scale international motorcycle racing competition, the BIC underwent extensive renovations, including the inclusion of new gravel sections and the erection of safety barriers totalling 1,800 metres in length (including air fence barriers). Due to recent upgrades, the BIC is one of the few locations capable of hosting Formula 1 and MotoGP competitions. Some examples are the Circuit of the Americas in the United States, the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar, and the Red Bull Ring in Austria.

MotoGP Bharat GP: New Speed Records

Race organisers at MotoGP Bharat are anticipating speeds that will break all previous series records. The current MotoGP season has seen Brad Binder, riding for factory KTM, set a new record for fastest rider ever at a speed of 366.1km/h at the Italian Grand Prix in Mugello.

The majority of MotoGP's top speed records—nine out of ten—have been established at Mugello. BIC, however, has one of the longest straight paths of any circuit on the MotoGP season, stretching over one kilometre, and it is expected that the race bikes will reach a top speed of close to 370km/h during the BharatGP.
