MotoGP: 'Commitment to Honda is Maximum', Says Marc Marquez Amid Exit Rumours

According to Marc Marquez, he has no plans to leave Honda as long as he is here, therefore his participation with the Japanese company is 'maximum'. He believes that he can do more with Honda's help on the project.

After his Honda RC213V snapped on him at turn 11 in Germany, the six-time MotoGP champion lost it and gave it the middle finger. After Marquez avoided a collision not once, but twice, he became visibly frustrated with the erratic behaviour of his Honda and eventually pulled out of the Grand Prix. He had a total of five crashes over the course of the weekend. Despite the ongoing deluge of speculation about his future, Marquez will be back in action this weekend. There have been rumours that Marquez would want to leave the Japanese manufacturer before the conclusion of his contract in 2024. Marquez acknowledged to having a fractured rib in addition to his other ailments to his foot and finger, so he will not be at full strength for the Dutch round.

Marquez has denied reports of his impending departure from Honda, saying that if he is here, his involvement with Honda is maximum. He hopes to work together with Honda to further the project's goals. Marquez also said that he is planning forward for next year's effort, highlighting his dedication to Honda over the long haul. He is realistic about the possibility that not much will change this year, but he is committed to making progress anyway.

Marquez acknowledged to having a fractured rib in addition to his injuries to his foot and finger, so he will not be at full strength for the Dutch round.

MotoGP Honda Marc Marques German GP Crash

After suffering various injuries in multiple collisions in Germany, Marc Marquez confesses he is not ready to push the Honda again in Assen. After being unbeaten at Sachsenring for almost a decade, the MotoGP icon had a terrible weekend there. It was clear that Marc's Honda was not fast enough to put him in contention for a victory. 

While he pushed the bike, the back continued lurching forward, causing him to crash. So much so that Marquez fell off the bike five times over the course of the weekend, the last time being during warmups.

The 30-year-old Spaniard said he was not in good enough form to ride the bike to Assen due to a damaged rib. Marc Marquez said that he had fractured his thumb and broken his second rib the previous weekend. The Spaniard's fractured thumb didn't bother him nearly as much as his cracked rib, but both were painful. 

This weekend, Marc Marquez will compete in Assen, but his Honda teammate Joan Mir and other Honda rider Alex Rins will not be able to make the trip owing to injuries.
