Oliver Rowland: As smooth as Monaco

'Monaco has always been good to me – I’ve taken a win in Formula 2 and I’ve finished second here in Formula E – so I’m hoping we can add to my good memories here this weekend' – Oliver Rowland

Monaco has been nice to Oliver Rowland. But the fact that it's an unforgiving beast simply won't let him take it for granted!

There's a lot that comes to mind when you think of Monaco’s famous Monte Carlo – casinos, beaches, fast cars and cash – it’s cool, it’s classy and it’s smooth… really smooth! In fact, of all the tracks on the Formula E calendar, this one has some of the best conditions with very few bumps to throw our Formula E cars off the racing line.

It’s a fairly fast circuit too. It winds through the streets climbing up and down through the city, through the tunnel and past the harbour but, despite its picturesque exterior, it’s a very unforgiving beast. You make one mistake and your race is over. I think that’s why, as drivers, we love it – we can push hard and we’re on full focus at all times.

Monaco has always been good to me – I’ve taken a win in Formula 2 and I’ve finished second here in Formula E – so I’m hoping we can add to my good memories here this weekend. We’ve put in a lot of hard work since Rome and I’m ready to show what the M8Electro is capable of on the streets of Monte Carlo.

Keep an eye on the Mahindra Racing social channels to follow our performance over the weekend and to see exclusive and behind the scenes content. You can also Fanboost* me, which gives me an extra boost of power during the race!

*You can find out all the information on how to do this at the Formula E website.
