The Ampere Reo slots between the Ampere V 48 and Ampere Magnus in the Coimbatore-based start-up’s product line-up. By the looks of it, the Ampere Reo is a snazzy scooter with sharp creases and a bold design that distinguishes itself from conventional electric scooters. The front cowl houses the turn indicators, while the headlamp is mounted on the lower half of the front apron. Just like its smaller sibling, the Ampere Reo also comes with the option of a lead-acid or a lithium-ion battery.

Ampere REO Exterior Details

With sharp creases, dual-tone shades, and sporty alloy wheels, the Ampere Reo breaks the mould associated with the styling of electric scooters. In terms of dimensions, the Reo is 1,730mm in overall length, 660mm in overall width and 1,200mm in overall height. The Reo has a kerb weight of either 70kg (lithium-ion) or 88kg (lead-acid).

Ampere REO Engine & Transmission

At the heart of the Ampere Reo is a 250W BLDC motor that is mated to a 48V / 24Ah battery. Interestingly, the lead-acid and lithium-ion battery are exactly similar in battery capacity. However, the former offers a maximum riding range of 50km while the latter is good for 65km on a single charge. As a result, the overall Ampere Reo mileage differs depending on the variant.

Ampere REO Handling

As far as handling is concerned, the Ampere Reo rides on a telescopic suspension setup at the front and coil spring suspension at the back. The braking power comes from drum brakes at both ends. As for the rubber, the electric scooter gets 10 x 3.00 section tyres at either end.

Talking about the features, the Ampere Reo new model boasts a fully-digital instrument cluster that’s good for live speed, battery levels, odometer and riding range. However, the headlamp and taillamp miss out on LEDs.
