The updated S1000 RR, unveiled last year, receives a visual refresh for 2025. Key changes include redesigned fairing with larger winglets that enhance aerodynamic efficiency. The 2025 S 1000 RR also gets integrated brake ducts for better cooling for the breaks for the track days. This announcement comes on the heels of a successful year for BMW Motorrad India. In 2024, the company delivered 8,301 motorcycles, marking its highest-ever half-year sales with 4,687 units sold from July to December, reflecting a 14 per cent increase. <p><em><strong>The 2020 S 1000 RR is the third-gen version of BMW's revered litre-class superbike. Highlights of the new model include a sharper design, a more powerful engine, a lightweight chassis and even more electronic rider aids than before.</strong></em></p>

<p>Say hello to the latest version of BMW Motorrad’s litre-class superbike – the S 1000 RR – as it’s now on sale in India. Launched at a starting price of ₹18.5 lakh, the 2019 S 1000 RR is available in 3 variants – Standard, Pro &amp; Pro M Sport. Updates in the new model include a sleeker design, a brand-new engine, a lightweight chassis and a host of new electronic rider aids.</p>

<p>The 2020 S 1000 RR is the third-gen model of BMW’s litre-class kingpin. It made its debut at EICMA 2018 and has now arrived at BMW Motorrad showrooms in India. Now, there are a lot of changes in the new motorcycle, but its powertrain is still the star of the show – only, this time it’s even better and more powerful than earlier. The 999cc inline-four unit features hollow titanium valves and BMWShiftCam or variable valve technology. Thanks to these modifications, the engine now weighs 4kg less than before. The new exhaust system is also 1.4kg lighter. All of these changes result in a power hike of 4bhp, meaning the S 1000 RR’s power output is now rated at 204bhp. Peak torque is unchanged at 113Nm.</p>

<p>To rein in the power, the chassis has been reinforced and it’s stiffer and lighter than before. In fact, weighing 197kg, the new S 1000 RR is around 11kg lighter than its predecessor. What’s more, if you opt for the M package, the weight savings go up by 3.5kg, thanks to its carbon fibre wheels and a light battery.</p>

<p>Electronics package includes semi-active electronic suspension, a bi-directional quick-shifter and four riding modes, namely – Rain, Road, Dynamic and Race. Additionally, there’s a three-way programmable Pro Mode available as an optional extra. Among other updates, the new bike gets a 6.5-inch TFT colour display. As for its design, in profile, it retains the aggressive and compact dimensions of its predecessors, but the asymmetrical headlamps are now replaced by a sleek pair of conventional looking LED headlamps.</p>

<p>The arrival of the 2020 BMW S 1000 RR will hot up the litre-class segment in India, as it’ll lock horns with the likes of the Ducati Panigale V4, Yamaha R1, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade and Suzuki GSX-R1000.</p>
